Since my last post, February and March were a whirlwind of shows, conferences, co-writes, and studio sessions. And suddenly it is April. I hope you're enjoying Spring. Here in L.A., after a month of unseasonably cool weather, it was 91 degrees today. I'm not complaining, but I am wondering how hot July will be.... Whew!
Here are some of the highlights since my last post: Performing and sharing my music at the at the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Annual Conference in Baltimore, MD. I met so many women and men who are making a difference in research and raising awareness of the illness. My music was very well-received, as were the Every Day is a Gift tank tops and tee shirts! Here are a couple of pictures:
Another highlight was performing at Bill Berry's Songwriters Square, an intimate and lively Nashville-style songwriters in the round concert with Gregg Sutton and James Lee Stanley. We had a lot of fun.
I've been writing and recording songs for various projects, including songs for ads, singing background vocals on a friend's upcoming EP (it is amazing, but can't reveal any details yet.) And, I co-wrote a gospel song with the composer Matt Hirt and sang on a 4-song gospel recording session for film/tv with Linda McCrary, Markita Knight, Charles McCrary, and Kurt Lykes. Look them up--you'll be blown away by who they've sung with--but so humble, you'd never hear about it from them). Such a high to sing with these powerhouse singers.
In April, I'll be at the ASCAP Expo in Los Angeles. Looking forward to catching some of my musical heroes and catching up with out-of-town music friends. And May 1, I'll be taping a TV show with Robbie McDonald here in L.A. Check out my full schedule here.
