ABOUT PATRICIA BAHIA
If your kitchen blender were also a radio, you could mix together ripe strawberries, almond milk, “All You Need is Love” and a shot of espresso and it would sound like the music of singer-songwriter Patricia Bahia. (pronounced ba-HEE-yah).

With a voice as smooth as polished stone that’s been through the rock tumbler of life, and a collection of frank, sparkling indie pop tunes that draw comparisons to Aimee Mann, Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles, Patricia Bahia lives her bucket list and inspires others to do the same.

Patricia started as a soloist with the acclaimed Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir--where she recorded with Linda Ronstadt, performed with Joan Baez, and opened for Bonnie Raitt. She discovered her bucket list desire to write songs during a successful battle with ovarian cancer fifteen years ago, and was reborn a singer songwriter.

“Though I was always a singer, I didn’t write my first song until after receiving a cancer diagnosis. Writing songs was on my bucket-list. It was something I had always wanted to do, says Patricia. "Having a life-threatening illness gave me the immediacy I needed to start living my bucket-list life. I thought, 'I've only got one life. I'm not going to get another chance to do what I've been called to do in this life. So, if not now, when?'"

Since then Patricia has become a performing songwriter, and frequent songwriting collaborator with artists and bands (Sleep Machine, MILCK7th & Hope, RAKEFIRE, Alisha Zalkin), garnering TV promo and film placements, including Younger (TV Land), Quantico (ABC), Heartbeat (NBC), Famous in Love (Freeform), The Fosters (Freeform), Switched at Birth (Freeform), Teen Mom OG  and Teen Mom 2 (MTV), and Finding Carter (MTV), and the opening and end title credits of the films The Price for Silence and closing credits of The Rose Bowl. One of her co-written songs was chosen as the team walk out song for the San Diego Gulls, and was played at every game in the 2016-17 season.

From the ethereal power-pop of “Resilient” to the snappy feel-good lilt of “Good Day,” and the heart felt ballad “Blue On Top Of Blue,” [Bahia] obviously has a deep pool of songwriting talents . . . The lyrics are honest, intriguing and appear to be straight from a soul who has lived the stories...

"You can’t help but be uplifted and inspired by these tunes. Bahia is a gifted songwriter with impeccable timing and amazing vocals. Her music is an inspiration for others to follow their dreams, and will stay with the listener long after the last notes have faded."

"On her new release Save Your Heart, singer-songwriter Patricia Bahia offers up a feel-good pop with graceful lyrics. Opening with two uplifting tunes Resilient and Good Day, she packs the album with fun and upbeat sing-along songs perfect for a Sunday morning wake up. Bahia writes lyrics with a real feeling for the preciousness of life and love. Her welcoming voice lead us through ten songs held together by the Brian Wilsonesque production of Jonathan Hayes from Little Big Tracks studios. With bouncy melodies that will have you singing along by the second chorus, Save Your Heart is a frothy treat, filled in the middle with the real good lyric stuff. Hot Pick: "Happy Birthday."

Inspiring stuff with a positive message
Midwest Record

"On Save Your Heart, L.A. Singer-songwriter Patricia Bahia brings that magic: With a voice smooth and delicious, she delivers songs that make you feel. The lyrics are vivid and substantial, the melodies and hooks memorable and the arrangements are current yet classic. It's thoroughly modern pop. For my money, she and her collaborators have created a CD of ten solid, radio-ready songs, including the encouraging “Resilient” and “Uncharted,” the ought-to-be-a country hit “The Bridge You Don't Burn” and the anthem-to-be “Every Day is a Gift.” If they aren't hits for Bahia, they surely will be for someone else.
--Steve Wagner, Random Fandom Blog

“‘Every Day Is A Gift’ is a life-affirming song that is pretty much a prerequisite considering Bahia is a cancer survivor…she works it enough to turn the track into an award-winning, TV-friendly piece that helps explain why some refer to her as the reborn “musical lovechild of Paul McCartney and Joni Mitchell. ... As always, Bahia makes it sound like she means every word..check out Patricia Bahia’s new disc, It just might Save Your Heart.”
--AXS Examiner

"The song “Good Day” has an almost Feist spirit and dismisses any kind of negative energy and is so optimistic that it transcends the mundane feelings most people have going about their life... (On “Blue on Top of Blue”) Bahia sings with melancholy... She takes her time singing on this track and you can sit back and really take in her inspired vocal performance.”
--Ted Rogen, The Even Ground

Long Road Home Reviews:

"....wow. Fantastic writer and singer...I am expecting you to have a lot of success!" --TAXI.com

"Creative and beautiful songs. I really love it. It's some of the best new music I've heard in a very long time."
--Carol Bernotas, radio show host, 91.9 WNTI Hackettstown, NJ, and on www.wnti.org.

"I fell in love with Patricia’s music when I first heard it. A cancer survivor, Patricia has turned her struggles and triumphs into truly memorable songs that are perfect for placement in television, movies and commercials. The title track is one of her best, and coupled with her musical talents, exemplifies what indie music is all about. She also gives a great live performance - check her out the next time she's performing."
--Examiner.com “Top 10 Indie/Unsigned EP’s of 2011” review by Robert Leggett

"I’m listening to Long Road Home and really enjoying it. . .infectious, catchy. . . beautiful vocal performance. . .atmospheric, well-crafted. . .very nicely done."
--Robin Frederick, best selling author of Shortcuts to Hit Songwriting and Shortcuts to
Songwriting for Film & TV, review of Long Road Home CD.

"I love your voice. It’s just beautiful. You’d given me your CD Long Road Home . . .and I finally got around to listening recently…and wow, I’m enthralled. I hope you know how beautiful you are and talented. Thanks for putting it into the world. You are the REAL thing."
--Tama Kieves, Writer and Speaker (Author of “This Time I Dance,” and “Inspired and Unstoppable”)

"Patricia Bahia's CD is beautifully sung and impeccably produced. Her songs are graceful, triumphant and totally commercial in their polish and sparkle. She writes and sings masterfully in a variety of styles - country, pop and gospel - to get her message across: that life, despite its ups and downs...No, because of its ups and downs, is worth living. This is contemporary, adult popular music that would enhance a movie, a top notch TV show or the album of a savvy artist. Well done!"
--Amazon.com review by Mark Wheaton, Echo Park, CA

"Every song on this EP is well crafted, well produced and well worth listening to."
--Jai Josefs, hit songwriter and author

This eclectic collection [Long Road Home] is for anyone who appreciates a multi-faceted vocalist. Ms. Bahia has created a soulful and thought-provoking body of work that is perfect for anyone needing to be uplifted in these trying times. Hope, peace, love, romance....it doesn't get any better than this. Her voice beautifully captures the spirit of the lyrics. "What Are The Chances" could bring the grumpiest curmudgeon out of a funk, with it's snappy, infectious lyrics and catchy tune. Definitely buy this collection if you are jonesing for the long-lost art of intelligent-yet-fun music.
