Nashville

I recently got back from my first music trip to Nashville. It truly lives up to the name Music City. Lots of types of music is being made in Nashville now, in addition to the country music it first became famous for. My week there included three days of songwriting and community with Americana artist Mary Gauthier; a performance on the iconic Bluebird Café stage; and experiencing great live music from some of the best songwriters in the U.S. And, I got to visit with music friends who have left Los Angeles and moved to Nashville, take a yoga class in a beautiful old house on Music Row that was once owned by Roy Orbison, and sit at the piano in RCA studio B, where most of Elvis’ many hit songs were recorded. It was a great time, and has already inspired the start of some new songs.
