Just found out two of my Patricia Bahia artist songs were named finalists in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest!!
Every Heart One Love--co-written with Diana Rose Dawson and produced by Duddy Brown is First Finalist in the Gospel/Inspirational Category (only one song away from winning the Grand Prize!!--soooo close!)
It's All Good--co-written with Lucy Clearwater and Alison Albers and produced by Bobby Holland placed as 3rd finalist in the Country category.
Judges include Natasha Bedingfield (I love her song Unwritten), Switchfoot (Switchfoot lead singer and songwriter Jon Foreman is one of my all time favorite songwriters--check out his duet with Lauren Daigle on "I Won't Let You Go," American Authors, Jimmy Cliff, George Clinton of Parliament Funkadelic, Lita Ford of The Runaways, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, Flea, and The Veronicas, to name a few.
This win means a lot to me because it's the first time a song where I am the artist has placed in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Songs I co-wrote have been named finalists before, but I wasn't the lead singer. I am the artist and lead singer on both of these, so I feel even more grateful for the kudos and recognition!
Both songs are as-yet unreleased but you can check them out on the John Lennon website:
